Abdi Abdirahman’s 27:16.99 for 10,000 meters at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, last Sunday moved him into #2 on the U.S. all-time list in the event behind Meb Keflezighi’s 27:13.98. Abdirahman’s previous best for the distance was 27:22.81. "Abdi," who won his third USATF 10,000-meter track title in 2007 and was seventh in the World Championships in Osaka, becomes a strong favorite in the 10,000 at the upcoming U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials, also in Eugene.
