At long last, Teter ready for worlds - The Register-Guard, Eugene, Ore.Published by
Nicole Teter is having fun again. The 34-year-old middle distance runner for Oregon Track Club Elite collected her third U.S. indoor 800-meter title in Boston on Sunday, and the victory earned her a trip to Spain for the World Indoor Championships. It was an important step for the oft-injured Teter, who said she doesn’t plan to compete beyond the 2009 season. The American indoor record-holder held off Nicole Cook to win the race with a time of 2 minutes, 2.65 seconds. “The time was not blazing fast, but for where my training is this early in the season, I was pleased with my performance,” Teter said. “I’m only going to run a couple more years, and I really wanted to make a world team.” The World Indoor meet will be held March 7-9 in Valencia.
