6/18/08 Jen Rhines, who set a personal best of 14:54.29 for 5000 meters at the Bislett Games in Oslo on June 6, will run the 5000 at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon. Rhines was a 2000 Olympian in the 10,000 and a 2004 Olympian in the marathon. Besides the 14:54.29, her other races this outdoor season included a 15:09.40 for 5000 meters in Berlin (she was a pacemaker, and kept going), a 31:30.31 for 10,000 at the Cardinal Invitational, and an 8:56.26 for 3000 at the adidas Track Classic. In the indoor season, she was second at the USA Championships in the 3000 in 8:59.98 and eighth in her heat at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia, Spain, in 9:03.66.
